SANMVA – Navy, the South African Naval Military Veterans Association, is a dedicated non-profit organization that champions the welfare, dignity, and legacy of naval veterans. Established to serve former members of the South African National Defence Force, SANMVA (Navy) has positioned itself as a vital support platform for those who served our nation at sea. With a foundation built on respect and camaraderie, the association offers structured advocacy, community engagement, and strategic support tailored to the specific needs of naval veterans. Our mission is to ensure that all members can navigate their retirement years with the fulfillment and security they deserve.

Founded in late 2019 and formally registered in February 2020, SANMVA (Navy) embarked on a journey to unite and uplift South African naval veterans. This journey began with a commitment to honor the sacrifices made by those who served in the naval forces, paving the way for a structured platform that addresses their unique needs. Through advocacy and community initiatives, SANMVA has quickly built a reputation as a trustworthy ally for veterans.

The South African Naval Military Veterans Association (SANMVA – Navy) is a registered non-profit organisation established to serve, support and advance the welfare of South African Naval Military Veterans. Founded in the last quarter of 2019 and formally registered as an NPO on 12 February 2020 (Reg. No. 246-242 NPO), SANMVA exists to ensure that naval veterans are guided, supported and empowered to access the benefits, recognition and dignity they have earned through service.

Mandate

SANMVA (Navy) was established in response to the growing need for coordinated support and assistance for all South African Naval Veterans. The Association exists to represent, support and advocate for naval military veterans, ensuring that their rights, benefits and dignity are protected and advanced.

Vision

To provide our members with a well-structured, self-sufficient and sustainable support platform that inspires, advises and assists all Naval Military Veterans to spend their retirement years in a dignified, secure and fulfilling manner.

Mission

To provide South African Naval Military Veterans with the necessary guidance, support and representation to access Department of Military Veterans (DMV) benefits to which they are entitled, as dedicated former service men and women of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).
